Jurgen Klopp has emerged as favorite to replace Brendan Rodgers at
Liverpool and Ilkay Gundogan reckons that his former coach will be a success at
Anfield.
Klopp signed Gundogan for the BVB in
2011 and the 24-year-old is confident that the Germany tactician would make a
positive impact at the fallen English giants should he be given the chance.
"I've not had that much contact
with him recently and I've not followed much of what has been said, but I
think Klopp would be a great fit at many clubs and I believe also at
Liverpool," the 24-year-old said.
"Of course it's something I can
see happening. I think Klopp is capable of helping many top clubs in the world."
Meanwhile, Liverpool utility Emre Can
has welcomed reports linking the two-time Bundesliga winning coach to the Kop.
"Jurgen Klopp is certainly a
great coach. I think he proved in Dortmund that he can fit with any team in the
world," the 21-year-old said.
However, whoever takes over the reins
at Anfield will have his work cut out given that the Reds sit 10th in the
table, having won just one of their last six top-flight games.
