On Sunday morning, US President Barrack Obama will be at the Safaricom
Indoor Arena, Kasarani, where he will meet Kenyan MPs, Senators and all the 47 Governors
in Kenya.
Obama, who will arrive in Kenya on
Friday morning, will also meet members of the civil society, the
opposition and persons with disabilities at the arena which is expected to hold
over 10,000 people.
The US Embassy in Nairobi in
coordination with a number of institutions like the National Assembly has sent
invitation letters to all MPs who are expected to meet the most powerful man in
the planet.
But there is one MP from Jubilee Alliance
who will not meet the US President because of raping a woman at his office in
Westlands.
Early this year, Imenti Central MP,
Gideon Mwiti, was accused of tricking a woman by inviting her to his office in
Westlands before raping her repeatedly for several hours.
“The Imenti Central MP will not meet
the US President. He has been advised to stay away from Nairobi for the three
days Obama will be in Kenya,” a source from the US Embassy in Nairobi said.
The shameless Mheshimiwa was arrested over
the issue and the case is currently ongoing. He is out on bail.
